I would like to discuss the old grandma sitting and reflecting on her life. She had white hair, her hands were soft and wrinkled, and her steps were slow. But inwardly she felt content and full. She did not think ageing was something to be afraid of. She felt that it was something gentle and beautiful. She was of the opinion that beauty of growing old is self-love. As a child, she was not always happy with herself. She cared about the way she appeared and what people thought.
Growing Older with Self-Love
With the course of time, she started knowing herself better. She gradually ceased to please everybody. She started to listen to her own heart. As an older person she was able to accept her face, her body and her thoughts. She did not want to be a different person anymore. She regarded her wrinkles as an indicator of time and life. She felt proud of her journey. She realized that each year made something precious to her soul. She made efforts to be flawless and was usually exhausted at heart.
The grandma was of the opinion that being kind to yourself is self-love. It is about forgiving oneself. It is to sleep when you are weary and be smiling at yourself in the mirror. She thought that self-love was silent and gentle. It does not require loudness or observance by others. She also became more relaxed when she grew old. Minor details did not bother her anymore. She never lingered on anger, sadness. She was taught to release. This provided her heart with additional room of relaxation and happiness.

The grandmother had a way of being in the present. She preferred to be in the sun and experience the wind. She enjoyed the quietness and the time lagging. These were times when she felt like she was connected with herself. She did not have to have much to be happy anymore. She realized that the older she became, the more she was a free person. She had no fear or doubt or the desire to prove herself. She was secure in her presence. This caused her to feel powerful in a silent manner.

She was not alone in her old age. She felt complete. She was now able to keep company with herself. She was self-confident and admired her own emotions. This gave her a deep sense of peace. Growing older to her did not mean losing youth. It was about acquiring wisdom and benevolence to herself. It was regarding becoming whole. She believed that to be beautiful is to love what you are, as you are. Then, rather than worrying celebrate the old age and enjoy a wonderful future.
