A mother was leaving football practice with her three children — her youngest exhausted and crying, her daughter upset about dinner — and, exasperated, she gave up on cooking and headed to McDonald’s instead.
At the drive-through, with all three kids crying, she reached the payment window and realised she had left her purse at home. Close to tears herself, she told the young employee she would have to cancel the order.
Without hesitation, he took out his own wallet and paid for her food before she could object. When she protested, he said it was totally fine, his pleasure. She asked his name — “Wyatt, ma’am” — and though he tried to talk her out of it, she returned and insisted he accept the cash, no more than he had paid.
She shared the story hoping it reaches his parents, so they know how kind and compassionate their son was that night — a moment that made a stressed-out mother reflect that raising great humans is exactly what parenting is about.
