Twenty shows in, illness forced Tom Jones to stop. After a punishing case of flu, the 86-year-old legend apologised to California fans as two eagerly awaited concerts were postponed on his doctor’s advice.

Sir Tom Jones’s American tour hit an unwelcome pause in late October 2026, when flu interrupted a run of 20 completed concerts. According to the Los Angeles Times, the Welsh singer said his doctor had advised him to reschedule two California engagements.
San Diego’s performance at The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park was moved to November 3, while Los Angeles’s Greek Theatre concert was shifted to November 4. Tickets purchased for the original dates would remain valid.
For audiences hoping to hear the voice behind “It’s Not Unusual,” “Delilah” and “She’s a Lady,” the announcement meant rearranged plans and a longer wait. Jones expressed regret for the inconvenience, thanked supporters and said he looked forward to performing again.
His statement described a temporary interruption, not a farewell. Those November dates were the replacements announced at the time; the announcement alone did not confirm whether either concert subsequently took place.
