Former FBI Deputy Director Issues Urgent Warning to American Families — The Essential Supplies He Says to Keep at Home

Former FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino has urged American households to take emergency preparedness seriously, saying families should keep at least three days of essential supplies at home.

Speaking on his show in October 2026, he recommended emergency food, batteries, a portable radio and water collection and filtration equipment, warning that in a community-wide disruption, neighbours may have nothing to spare.

The advice echoes standard emergency guidance: around a gallon of water per person per day, non-perishable food, flashlights, spare batteries, a weather radio, a first-aid kit, phone power banks, medications and basic hygiene items.

The message, however, is calm preparation rather than panic-buying — a household checklist built around everyone’s needs and reviewed from time to time, so that a family is ready before an emergency arrives rather than scrambling after it.
